This resin exhibits very fast cure response, excellent flow properties, good film hardness and resistance properties, also low temperature cure, flexibility, alkali resistance, adhesion properties too.

MELCROSS-23 resin is soluble in Alcohols, Ketones, Esters and Aromatic hydrocarbons completely but limited in Aliphatic hydrocarbons,  insoluble in water.
This resin has good compatibility with Alkyd resins, Polyester resins, Acrylic resins, but limited in epoxy resins for the use of Automotive, General industrial and metal decorating coatings.

Introduction
MELCROSS-23  Crosslinking agent is a commercial grade of Iso butylated melamine formaldehyde resin with a medium degree of alkylation, a medium methylol content, low imino functionality,   medium molecular weight and viscosity.
MELCROSS-23 provides very fast cure response, excellent flow, flexibility, alkali resistance, adhesion properties at general industrial stoving applications.
MELCROSS-23 melamine resin is a usefull crosslinking polymer for the other polymer resins which containing hydroxyl, amide and to some extent, carboxyl functional groups, such as alkyd, polyester, or acrylic resins.
And has a high reactivity and a high tendency for self- condensation in a range of basic polymers, providing films with very good hardness, gloss, chemical resistance and exterior durability.
 A low acid number in an alkyd or acrylic resin is sufficient. The cure reaction can be additionally catalyzed with weak organic or inorganic acids such as maleic, citric, phosphoric, or alkyl phosphoric acids, low levels of para toluene sulfonic acid catalyst.
Acid catalyzed coatings may be cured as low as 110-150°C for 15-20 minutes.
To control the stability, you can use primary alcohols or tertiary amins for neutralization and PH adjustment.

    Storage
If MELCROSS-23 is kept in tightly closed drums or in storage tanks in the cool place, its shelf life is 18 months.
